How International Design Shaped a Local Dream Bathroom
When Guy Larsen reached out to us about his master bathroom remodel, he brought something unique to the table – years of inspiration from the world’s finest hotels. As a United Airlines pilot, Guy had experienced countless luxury bathrooms across Asia, and he knew exactly how to blend those high-end features into a practical home space.
What I love about this project is how every detail tells a story. Guy chose stunning natural travertine throughout, laid in a classic Versailles pattern that gives the space a timeless feel. But what really makes this bathroom special are the smart features he discovered during his travels. Take the motion-sensing night lights under the vanity – such a simple idea that makes those midnight trips so much more pleasant.
The vessel sinks were another brilliant choice. Not only do they look stunning, but they also give Guy and his wife plenty of counter space for their daily routines. And the custom closet solution? It’s a masterpiece of space planning, with a pocket door and strategically placed mirror that makes the whole room feel larger.
One of my favorite parts of this project was working out the perfect bathtub design. Guy wanted something deep enough for a luxurious soak but still easily accessible. It’s this kind of thoughtful planning that takes a bathroom from beautiful to truly functional.
Every element in this space serves a purpose while maintaining that luxury hotel feel Guy was after. From the rainfall shower to the carefully planned storage solutions, we brought the best of his international hotel experiences right here to The Woodlands.
What makes this project stand out isn’t just the high-end materials or custom features – it’s how perfectly it fits Guy’s lifestyle. It’s proof that with the right inspiration and careful planning, you can bring world-class design into your everyday life.
